"Go" is our middle name

Did someone say "field trip?" I do believe they did! And in typical Lindsey-like fashion, we weren't gonna miss it, even if there was a 60% chance of rain with an hour and 45 minute drive to our destination! Did I mention it would be an outdoor field trip...on a farm...and that I took every precaution necessary to make sure my vehicle arrived back home in tip-top shape???  Yea, I can be OCD at times.  It's not one of my better qualities.  Aaron considers it a flaw because I sometimes usually drag him into my OCD nonsense :)  Well, anyway, we had a GREAT time visiting Ard's Dairy Farm with our home school group!
And we definitely needed these to get us through it :) Note that mine and my 1st graders' are almost the same size! Gasp!!! She loves horses... And I love navy! And Berkley...well, she loves hand-me-downs :)
I've been telling people for years that we live in the country!!! It was actually confirmed today, however, that we do not!  Ruth, MS is indeed IN THE COUNTRY!!! So, please forgive me if I have ever told you that I lived in the country! Just because you are a 25 minute drive to the nearest Walmart does not mean that you live in the country.  Only when you have traveled afar and have not encountered another vehicle for a least an hour, are you truly in the country!!! :)

Meet my master calf feeder :)
and her master calf feeder sister :)
Because little sisters {wearing rain boots} who are listening intently to the field trip instructions are entirely too adorable from the backside!
We took a little ride...
over to feed some fish!
And then remember the part about the cute little girl listening to the instructions... Well, she pretty much didn't need her mama on the field trip! She can definitely hold her own! Always at the front of the line making sure to not miss a thing! Can you spot her here? Lol! She uses her size to weasel her way through so that she can get to where she can see!  Gotta be right in the middle of the action!
And then we tackled the corn maze.  This is where I try to NOT let on that I have issues with claustrophobia! It's for the kids, right? They'll  love the corn maze, I tell myself!  I mean, this is just really something my six and three year old need to experience, right???  Aaron is my source of comfort in a corn maze, and he was unable to go with us on the field trip. Sigh... We made it through though! And guess what??? My children DID NOT realize we came back out the entrance :) Mommy score! I guess you could say we "kinda" did the corn maze, ha!
She was navigating it like a pro though!  Hopefully she'll have her daddy's good sense of direction!
And then some more fun was had by all :)
Hey!  There I am!  See, I went too :)
It's all fun until you tell a three year old that it's about time to go!
But at least she had a good reason for all her grouchiness there at the end :)
My children are totally against the whole "let's have some pretty pumpkins to add to our fall decor" thing... They think pumpkins are here for two reasons and two reasons only: 1.) To be carved and 2.) To be decorated with Sharpies!  So now, we have Mickey and Minnie pumpkins! Can't you tell?
It was a great day!  Thankful that the rain held off and didn't ruin our plans!  You should check it out if you're in the area...or if you just want to enjoy a peaceful ride to the REAL country... not that "fake" country where I live :)  This is the real deal!
