One-derful One!

Saturday was such a fun time for my little birthday girl!  The sweetest part was that somehow she totally knew the day was for her :)  She was so happy, walking around clapping with a big smile on her face :)
It may look like something I pinned from pinterest, and I'm sure if I searched long enough I could have found it, but I actually came up with this little idea with my own brain power :)  Pictures of Berkley throughout her first year, hung from the chandelier :)

  Peek-a-boo!
Happy 1st Birthday, sweet girl :)  We love you very much!!!

Today you're one, Berkley

What a difference a year makes, right???
Seems like only yesterday you entered this world, and made our lives even happier!  We love you so much and had so much fun celebrating your special day today!  Happy 1st Birthday, Berkley!!!

Phone Fun

Because it's not always convenient to lug my big camera around with me wherever I go, sometimes my phone has to improvise.  Just some random happenings or things that were cute/funny to me that I wanted to document :)

"Mommy, this is my blog."

:)

My "Pretty, Pretty Princess"

 Annie, always close by

I'd say she was pretty good at getting that last drop of her ice cream!

Two little girls being tickled :)

I love how Kenadie writes in every color of the rainbow.  I love how "happy" her handwriting looks :) And I especially love how she "dots" her "i"!  BTW, Jingles is our elf and this was from Christmas, a note she left for him :)

Gift wrapping was definitely tops on the list of favorite pastimes during Christmas...  I think at some point during the month of December, EVERY thing in our house got wrapped :) and then I immediately had to open, of course!  Doesn't everyone love opening a sticky note with one letter written on it :)

Sweetness...

Enjoying a basketball game, or a snack rather :)

Sometimes we're just so sleepy we can't even make it to our bed :)  I was getting some housework done, and in no time, sensed a VERY quiet Berkley.  With the blood pressure cuff and all, she was quickly fast asleep.

The significance of this one is simply that is was 1:45 a.m. and someone just wasn't sleeping good :(  It has been a while since I've seen that hour!  She was congested, so she had good reason ;)

And this one was the following morning, when Berkley didn't sleep good, it made for one grumpy little girl the next half day.  What does a mommy do to try to cheer up her little grouch, snacks of course :)

Berkley and I are always happy to pick up this little girl from school :)  She is ALWAYS telling me about her day from the sidewalk, before ever making it into the car, while waiting for me to pull up in the car line :)  Can you get the visual?:)?

And the last one... Aaron was supposedly tucking Kenadie into bed, but from the den, all I heard was never ending laughter!  I walked in to find...

Over a little hill

Aaron celebrated the BIG 3-0 yesterday!!!  He is officially two years younger than when I thought my parents were OLD :(  I see now that 32 was in NO WAY old...  And yes, at the wee old age of five, I was already concerned about my parent's health and well being :)
So, what does one do to celebrate turning 30?  Well... for starters he enjoyed the day off from work.  But before you get a visual of Aaron relaxing with his feet propped up, umm... yea, that wasn't happening!  He spent the day just like he wanted :)  He insisted he was taking Kenadie to school, which means they first had to enjoy a doughnut breakfast at Shipley's, his favorite :)  Then, I had COMPLETELY described how to drop her off at school.  When I checked in to see how it went, he told me that she insisted he walk her in :)  And so, he did :)  Next up was 3 hours of marking things off his to do list while waiting on Kenadie to get out of school.  These "to-do" list things weren't at home, but more like in the form of errands... i.e. get extra keys made, take things to the storage building, get an inspection sticker...  When it was time to get Kenadie, he had packed them a "picnic" lunch to eat at church before heading to dance.  YES, he IS Mr. Mom, because he CAN dress his little ballerina from head to toe in her dance attire, tights included :)  Side note- Aaron takes his lunch everyday to work, and on rare occasions when he goes out to eat for lunch or for whatever reason his lunch went uneaten, Kenadie always wants his leftover lunch for dinner :)  So, he thought she would enjoy eating "his" lunch for lunch :)  It's no different than what she might eat for lunch, but I guess something about it being "Daddy's lunch in his lunchbox" makes it special :)  After lunch, he took his little ballerina to dance, waits for it to be over, picks her up and brings her home for her nap, to which I flee the scene upon his arrival to head to my parents to work on his birthday dinner :)  My mom asked me if this was Aaron's birthday, or mine.  I just smiled :)

The menu: Chicken and sausage Alfredo, green beans, corn, rolls, and a delicious salad I call "Christy's Crunchy Salad."

The guests :)... I think these guys could let this be their Christmas card it's such a great photo :)  It's just missing me, and Berkley looks a bit thrown away.  Please try to visualize her without wearing the tacky bib and know that she is dressed cute under it :)  As for her missing sock and shoe... I'm sure I could edit that back in... :)  Ok, so maybe it's not the best picture as far as small details, but everyone is smiling, and that in itself makes for a great picture!
She loves a birthday :)
And she's getting ready for hers this Saturday...
Cookie cake--his request!
Presents were involved...
Some people pretended to be a present...
And some people were just taking it all in :)
Happy Birthday, Aaron!!!  Hope you enjoyed you birthday!!!  I sure did :)
