Jesus Is Risen!

This post may come across as jumpy and random... and that's pretty much how I feel like my brain functions these days, jumpy and random :)  First off and most importantly, I'm so thankful that when asked why we celebrate Easter, Kenadie's response is "that's when Jesus died on the cross for our sins, for when we make bad choices."  I know it's a little late, but if you havn't seen these, they are a great tool for telling the Easter story with your children, and this pairs nicely with them too :)  It is the most precious thing in the world to watch/hear Kenadie tell the Easter story with the Resurrection eggs.  She says ALOT of the same phrases Miss Patty Cake uses in her dvd, which by the way, Kenadie couldn't be more into the role playing stage than she is now!  See, I told you, pretty jumpy huh?  Yes, I just recommended two products for Easter and Easter won't be here for another year... oh well, it was on my mind, so I shared :)  Maybe I will just tell myself I am super early on passing along a suggestion for next year :)

Kenadie enjoyed dying eggs, which are still in our refrigerator due to the fact that she is a little COMPLETELY obsessed with playing with them.  She just enjoys moving them all around in the little egg carton?  Our rule is when one breaks, it goes in the garbage can.  Therefore... I am patiently awaiting 10 more little eggs to break!  We tried to send them home with Kay Kay to put on her kitchen table to decorate with and enjoy looking at for Easter lunch, but Kenadie became an emotional basketcase and burst into tears at the thought...

On Saturday, we welcomed this little cutie into our family...

Her name is "Lola the rabbit" and she is the cutest thing ever!  My parents surprised Kenadie with her on Saturday.  She was just plain giddy with excitement!  Thumbs up to my dad for making this superb cage for her!  And, just in case you are wondering about the milk jug on top of it, that is her little bed, and I am washing her linens at I type :)  Hoping she soon learns not to poop in her bed!  Dad made a lovely slide out tray to rid her cage of such matter.  And now, because you may be thinking she is sitting in her own poop until I remove the tray, that's not the case!  My dad was just being an over achiever and making the cage look the very best it could :)  The floor of the cage that Lola sits on is wire like the sides of the cage.  So, the "said matter" falls though to the tray that I can remove and dump wherever I please!  There, that's the end of the poop discussion!
Here she is again.  Lola is a Lionhead rabbit, and the picture below the following one is of what she will somewhat look like when she is grown.
I'm no genius, but it didn't take me long to figure out that the best place for Kenadie to play with Lola is in our bath tub!  For multiple reasons, this makes the most sense :)  And until this doesn't make sense, the bath tub is Lola's as far as I'm concerned...

I got up at 5:30 on Sunday morning thinking that was enough time for Kenadie and Berkley to check out their Easter baskets and take pictures before leaving for church at 8:00.  Was that enough time, no way!  I suppose I should have gotten up at 4:30... and I allready had EVERYTHING as ready as it could be for Sunday morning.  All clothes were ironed, all bags were packed and the car was loaded.  It was those pictures that just threw us over!  Why oh why must it be so difficult to get pictures before leaving for church?  I had one willing participant who was full, fat and happy and one who claimed when we went outside that the sun was just way too bright.  So, I did like every good mother should and snagged one outside pic and went inside to get the rest.  For some strange reason the fact that the sun was just "way too bright" carried back indoors with us and affected the rest of my pics :(  Oh well...  I guess there's always Mother's Day coming up :)

Berkley was doing good to balance herself in the bumbo, I didn't want to put too much on her and try to get a smile :)

After church, we enjoyed a nontraditional Easter lunch of boiled shrimp at Papa & Kay Kay's.

And after a nice long nap, my sweet girl was back sweet again and ready to find some eggs :)  Kenadie found 80 of the 81 eggs Aaron and I hid.  I'm sure Papa's lawnmower will find the last one :)

And after all of our Easter fun, we were COMPLETELY tuckered out!

Days 91 - 111

I think the fact that I now have two children is beginning to catch up with me :)  To anyone out there who enjoys reading my blog, and I do mean literally the "one" of you,  I apologize for not being a faithful blogger lately.  I have also had somewhat of a lack of inspiration about what to write about, which could actually be a good thing :)  I guess that would mean that life is hectic in a sense of having two children, but apparently not sooo much is going on because I haven't had anything really blog worthy lately.  Also, I am finding that the "days _____ - _____ posts" are taking away things that I would normally do a whole post on...  So, on that note :)  here are days 91-111, and yes, it takes about 10 years to upload one pic on here :)   If any of my fellow bloggers have a secret they are not sharing to upload pics faster, please don't keep it to yourself, and help a girl out :)

Day 91, Where is Lily?  (this was all Lily)

Day 92,  Quite the fashion statement

Day 93,  Berkley's first time going to church

Day 94,  "Look Mommy, my one hand shared soap with the other hand"

Day 95,  An evening walk

Day 96,  Sisters doing things together :)

Day 97,  Kenadie's new found love... Littlest Pet Shop

Day 98,  Berkley sleeps in our bed tonight as she had a lovely spit up accident all in her cradle, and I still haven't managed to find my back-up cradle sheets :(

Day 99,  Bath time Berkley

Day 100,  No comment :)

Day 101,  Kenadie's "beach party."

Day 102,  Berkley is now batting at objects.  This is happening way too fast!

Day 104,  Kenadie's favorite breakfast

Day 105,  A picnic with Daddy on his lunch break

Day 106,  All ready for dance recital pics, and no, I did not put fake eyelashes on my 3 year old :)

Day 107,  Egg hunt fun

Day 108,  Aaron left today going to Ohio for the week.  He will find his "surprise" pictures rolled up in all of his shirts.  This particular picture is of Kenadie and Berkley :)  Love how Kenadie has started giving people ears in her drawings.

Day 109,  Something sweet about the back of a baby's head... well actually, what isn't sweet about a baby ? :)

Day 110,  Love her smile!

Day 111,  What Mommy running late looks like!

Happy Easter everyone!  Hoping you enjoy spending time with your families reflecting on the death of Jesus and celebrating His resurrection.  He Is Alive!

The things she tells us...

"Oh My Mercy!!!" Her response to me totally jumping the BIGGEST curb I have ever seen in my life! with much emphasis on the word "Mercy!"  Yeah, that was pretty much my reaction too, Kenadie :)

Kenadie: "Mommy, does Lily (our dog) have ear lobes?"
Me: "Hmmm... I'm not real sure on that one." I pause to come up with a better answer...
Kenadie: "Okay, I'll just ask her."  To which she proceeds to ask Lily if she indeed does have ear lobes...
Kenadie: "Nope, she says she doesn't have one."

Me: "Kenadie, please don't throw sand."
Kenadie: "But Mom, it's just pixie dust, that's why I have to throw it."

"Don't worry Mommy, my lip will get better all by itself."  Her response to me telling her I was so sorry she hurt her lip.

Words she mispronounces that I enjoy hearing :)  Remener (remember), bachine (machine) and Conchilla (chinchilla)

"Mommy, that's strange too!  How did all this stuff get strange?"  What she thought about my paper trimmer and trimmings :)

The scene:  Aaron is watching TV
Kenadie: "Daddy, Daddy, I want to show you something."
Aaron: "It's hard for Daddy to hear the TV when you keep talking." (sounds harsh, but said it nicely) :)
Kenadie: "Daddy, do you know why I keep talking?  Because I have to show you something."
