Didn't know this existed...

Early this morning, as in meeting and ready to pull out at 5a.m. early, two friends and myself headed to Natchez for the BIG Kelly's Kids sale. This was my second time to go to their warehouse sale, and let me just tell you, it is a REALLY BIG DEAL! We overheard that some people got there at 3:30 a.m.!!! I thought I was doing good to be getting up at 3:30! It was definitely worth our efforts to try to be there at 7:30 for the doors to open at 9:00, which surprisingly, they actually opened at 8:15! We were about the 200th in line, with approximately that many more behind us!!! We racked up on some FABULOUS bargains and look forward to going again next year.

Now, to document the part about our trip that got the most giggles... As we were headed home, my friend who was driving tells us to look behind us. Without having any clue as to what I was going to turn around and see, this certainly wasn't at all what I was expecting...In case you are unable to make it out, it's a motorcycle helmet that has pigtails :) The picture doesn't really do it justice, but you get the jest. I had absolutely NO clue such thing existed! The girl we saw today actually had her pigtails braided, I guess if you're having a bad hair day perhaps? :) And, in case you're interested, you too can have these helmet accessories for only $19.99.

Because it was funny...

The inspiration...
And so, in an effort to keep a little girl entertained while eating out Sunday night, this might happen...Happy KenadieSad KenadieSurprised KenadieSick KenadieBelieve it or not, this is mad Kenadie :)and finally... sleepy Kenadie

Obviously a reenactment here, but it was QUITE humorous for all parties involved as Aaron was flashing up all the different bear faces for Kenadie to mimic. The toy is actually a little puzzle where you dress the different bear faces in different clothes. Hey, what can I can I say, you have to get a little creative sometimes :)

Spend the Night Company & Green Bananas

Some of my favorite pictures of Kenadie are the ones that are taken after she has gone to bed, not how you originally put her down. It's so funny to see how she arranges things once we have read a story, said our prayers, sang a song and lastly, said "sweet dreams, I love you." Aaron and I always take one last peek at her as we are going to bed. This night, apparently she tucked everyone else in after she herself was tucked in :) From left to right: Minnie, Kenadie, Dora's Mommy and Dora.Minnie is a bedtime staple, Dora and Dora's Mommy were the guests for the night :) She came up with the whole "Dora's Mommy" thing on her own--pretty cute huh?

It's hard to tell in the picture, but the bananas were much more green than yellow. From a two year old who until now, only knows bananas to be yellow, you are likely to get a response like "No Mommy, I don't want the green bananas, I want the yellow ones", which means, it's going to take some serious convincing that these bananas "WILL IN DEED turn yellow, I promise!" She settled for them being "magic bananas" that were green, but turned yellow after a couple of days :)

Have a great weekend everyone!!!

May 17, 2003

Seven years ago today, I married my best friend. Thank you Aaron, for making the past 7 years so wonderful! You are perfect for me, and are truly "my better half." I am SO thankful that God saw fit for us to have English together in 9th grade, and from there, grew our relationship. Thank you for making me so happy for ALL these years! I love you with all my heart and look forward to many more years to come!

Happy Mother's Day

Today is truly a favorite holiday! I just love telling and hearing "Happy Mother's Day" all day long! And because Kenadie associates any type of gift as being a birthday present, she is possibly quite confused today that my mom and I share a birthday :) Cute, none the less :)
I love being this little girl's Mommy more than anything in the world! I am so thankful that I get to spend every day taking care of her needs. Thank you, God, for choosing me to be Kenadie's Mommy.
Happy Mother's Day, Mom!!! I love you so much! You're the BEST!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you for EVERYTHING you have done and continue to do for me!!!

Last night Aaron and I had a wonderful time seeing Beauty and The Beast. It was GREAT and all of the cast members were so very, very talented!!! We give it 2 thumbs up!!!

One last thing... here is an email that Heather sent me 5 years ago! I saved it because I thought it was so funny. Hope you do too :)

How To Know When You Are Ready For Parenthood

MESS TEST: Smear peanut butter on the sofa and curtains. Now rub your hands in the wet flower bed and rub on the walls. Cover the stains with crayons. Place a fish stick behind the couch and leave it there all summer.

TOY TEST: Obtain a 55-gallon box of Legos. (If Legos are not available, you may substitute roofing tacks or broken bottles.) Have a friend spread them all over the house. Put on a blindfold. Try to walk to the bathroom or kitchen. Do not scream (this could wake a child at night).

GROCERY STORE TEST: Borrow one or two small animals (goats are best) and take them with you as you shop at the grocery store. Always keep them in sight and pay for anything they eat or damage.

DRESSING TEST: Obtain one large, unhappy, live octopus. Stuff it into a small net bag making sure that all arms stay inside.

FEEDING TEST: Obtain a large plastic milk jug. Fill it halfway with water. Suspend from the ceiling with a stout cord. Get the jug swinging. Try to insert spoonfuls of soggy cereal (such as Fruit Loops or Cheerios) into the mouth of the jug while pretending to be an airplane. Now dump the contents of the jug on the floor.

NIGHT TEST: Prepare by obtaining a small cloth bag and fill it with 8 to 12 pounds of sand. Soak it thoroughly in water. At 8 PM begin to waltz and hum with the bag until 9 PM. Lay down your bag and set your alarm for 10:00 PM. Get up, pick up your bag, and sing every song you have ever heard. Make up about a dozen more and sing them until 4:00 AM. Set alarm for 5:00 AM. Get up and make breakfast. Keep this up for 5 years. Look cheerful.

PHYSICAL TEST (WOMEN): Obtain a large bean-bag chair and attach it to the front of your clothes. Leave it there for 9 mo. Now remove 10% of the beans.

PHYSICAL TEST (MEN): Go to the nearest drug store. Set your wallet on the counter. Ask the clerk to help himself. Now proceed to the nearest food store. Go to the head office and arrange for your paycheck to be directly deposited to the store. Purchase a newspaper. Go home and read it quietly for the last time.

CAR TEST: Forget the Miata and buy the mini van. And don't think you can leave it out in the driveway spotless and shining. Family cars don't look like that. Buy a chocolate ice cream bar and put it in the glove compartment. Leave it there. Get a quarter. Stick it in the cassette player. Take a family size bag of chocolate cookies. Mash them down the back seats. Run a garden rake along both sides of the car. There! Perfect!

CRAFT TEST: Get an egg carton. Using a pair of scissors and a can of paint, turn it into an alligator. Now get a toilet paper tube. Using only scotch tape and a piece of foil, turn it into a Christmas tree. Last, take a milk container, a ping pong ball, and an empty packet of CoCo Puffs and make an exact replica of the Eiffel Tower. Congratulations, you have just qualified for a place on the play group committee.

TELEVISION TEST: Learn the names of every character from 'Barney and Friends', 'Sesame Street', and 'Power Rangers'. When you find yourself singing, "I love you, you love me" at work, you finally qualify as a parent.

FINAL ASSIGNMENT: Find a couple who already has a small child. Lecture them on how they can improve their child's discipline, patience, tolerance, toilet training, and table manners. Suggest many things they can improve as well. Emphasize to them that they should never allow their children to run riot. Enjoy this experience. It will be the last time you'll have all the answers.

A recent trip to Wal Mart

When next to elderly lady on scooter...
Kenadie: "hey, what is she riding?"

When I tell her we are done, she turns to the group beside us and says...
"We're all done. We're going home people."

When putting groceries in car...
"hey, don't forget me...Kenadie."

When driving away from Wal Mart...
"Bye Wal Mart! I had fun at you!"

I tell her that I see a fender bender...
Kenadie: "A bender bender is really scary and it might hurt us."
