A Great Day!

I don't mean to be long-winded, but today was a super fun day and I want to document all parts of it :) Now, to brief you... at about 18 months, Kenadie fell in love with Dora! When the show would come on, she would squeal with excitement. While the show was on, she was in full "focus" mode, and when the show ended and Dora sings the "We did it" song, my sweet girl would do the cutest little twist dance like Dora :) That stage was much too short because the only thing she still does of those things is the "full focus" mode while it plays. She still LOVES Dora, just has let some of the adorable actions go :(

So, to get to what we did today... we went to Storytime Live and got to see Dora, The Wonder Pets, The Backyardigans and Ni Hao Kai Lan. For about the past year and a half, we have been waiting for Dora to come closer to us, so needless to say, when we saw she was in New Orleans, our tickets were purchased early in the morning the first day they went on sale :) We have been talking it up ever since, and every time the commercial for it would come on, Kenadie would say "That's where we're going, Mommy."

We headed out early this morning to get to the 11:00 show, but first on our list of stops was...FYI--I Hop is SUPER busy on Saturday mornings at 7:45. Even when they're packed, it only takes 30 minutes, and you are out of there :) Some of you may be thinking, "I didn't know Lindsey liked I Hop?" Well, you should know, this was only our 2nd time to go there and we haven't been in about 12 years :) So, it's not a favorite, just wanted to go get some pancakes that had fruit and whipped topping on them :) We are now full, happy and headed to our show!

We arrive at Mahalia Jackson Theater where I am super pleased with our seats!

Most of you know, I not only blog, but also scrapbook, so my camera is never far from sight. I was quite disappointed, but had a little heads up that you couldn't take pictures during the show :( Well... being the rule follower that I am... I made it through half the show without taking a single pic, while EVERYONE ELSE in there was constantly snapping away. Kenadie is also a big fan of The Wonder Pets, so when they came out, I joined the crowd and started snap, snap, snapping. I truly meant to only take like one pic from Wonder Pets and one from Dora, but I told Aaron once I started, there was no going back :) ha! I snapped away with everyone else, and didn't get the first disapproving look from Aaron:) He may be even more of a "rule follower" than I am!Dora and Boots!"Swiper No Swiping"We thoroughly enjoyed the show! It was GREAT!!!

I bet you can guess where our next stop was...yep, Cafe Du Monde for some beignets! I just knew Kenadie would LOVE them, but she preferred to do this through it all...Maybe next time...

We are headed home around 2:30 pm, and I am already wondering what we will have for supper :) I thought I would stick with the trend and go to a place, much like I Hop, that Aaron and I never frequented during the 6 years of living in Hattiesburg. What would that be you ask? Gold Post! I don't think I have been there since I was about 8! I'm definitely not going to let 20 YEARS go by before we go there again :) Now, before you think "Wow, Lindsey eats ALOT!, my days food intake consisted of 1 pancake, 1 beignet and a po-boy. I don't think that's too terribly bad... I certainly don't eat like this every day!

I promise, I am about done with this post, but I will leave you with one last pic. This is where my precious angel has been since about 5:30. She was one tired little girl after all this fun!

  1. Glad yall had fun! I can't believe they wouldn't let you take pics! The one in Jackson said "no flash photography" so I "obeyed" ;) I love the pic of you and Kenadie! She's such a cutie pie!
