Halloween Take 2

Once again, moving forward as if Halloween was yesterday :)  Kenadie was able to dress-up in her costume at school on Halloween, and seeings how she received the most adorable Dallas Cowboys cheerleader uniform for her birthday, and also seeings how I didn't know how our "official" costume would hold up for a day at school, and one more "seeings how", we were trying to take care of our costume so that it could make it on our trip to Disney in a couple of weeks, we thought it best to go as the cheerleader to school :)  I think this is why mothers have such a tiring job...we have to think through EVERY single tiny detail of life, even our Halloween costumes :)  Or maybe that's just me liking to have my thumb on things :)???  Oh well, call it what you may, but she was one cute cheerleader AND we still have our princess costume in mint condition to take to DW with us!  Mission accomplished!!!
Our adorable friend, Ally, the Southern Miss Dixie Darling :)
Halloween night, we attended the "Pumpkin Party" at our church.  Side note funny: When I was fixing Kenadie's hair in a bun, upon her request, she said she wanted a "big, fat bun like Cinderella has."  Bless her sweet little tiny hair heart!  She has maybe had a total of 2" total cut from her hair.  Fast hair growth is just not "our thing!" :)  Still aspiring to have hair "like Rapunzel" though!
Berkley was so brave getting her face painted, just trying to keep up with sister, who FINALLY for the first time would get her face painted!!!
 Aghhh.......!!!
This was K's reaction to our lifelong family friend, Mr. Sam, bowing to her :)  He's so funny!  Seriously he is one of the funniest people I know!
 Yay for horse rides!!!
And that was our Halloween for ya!  Fun times :)

My Little Ladybug

I'm just going to pretend that Halloween wasn't over a week ago and post this as if it happened yesterday :)  First on our dress-up agenda was taking Berkley to Mommie & Me.  How adorable are these toddlers in their costumes!?!  We had a bumble bee, Charlie Brown, 2 ladybugs, a monkey, Little Red Riding Hood, a Tennessee Smokie and a Hippie :)
This would be costume #1.  Costume #2 coordinated with Kenadie's, however, as a solo, Berkley is cutest as the ladybug :)  Her favorite part was the red sequined shoes!
Kenadie wore this costume when she was 1 :)
All of our friends!  A fairy and a  lion joined us for this pic.
21 months old
We love the dinosaur song, perhaps it's because we don't own any toys of this variety :)
I just had a thought...oh my goodness...this was Berkley's last Mommie & Me dress-up day :(  Oh no :(  Sure wish I had made a mental note of that while it was happening... :(

Fabulous 5!

The past two weeks are literally all a blur!  Every day I had a "to do" list that was just to get me by to the next day.  I was totally just treading water trying to get through it all!  But, somewhere in the middle of it all, my precious angel turned 5!  Whoa!  Just doesn't seem right!!!  She's so much fun and we had a great time celebrating her.  I think we FINALLY finished :)  We had her party on the 27th, the Saturday before her official birthday on Tues. the 30th.

We had a Little Mermaid themed Stretch n Grow party, and it was way too much fun!  She loved her cake! Precious "total awe" smile when she saw it :)
Bella, Kenadie & Miriam
Ally & Joiner
Even Berkley participates :)
Sweet sisters :)
Weeeeee...
Miriam, Ally, Kenadie, Bella, Joiner, Berkley & Kate.  We had one more little friend here with us, she just wasn't so sure about everything going on.
Happy Birthday, Kenadie!!!
Can't have a party without Cheetos!  Or, at least not to her anyway!
Presents = pure chaos!
How adorable is this Dallas Cowboys cheerleader uniform from Aunt Paige, Uncle Drew, Dylan & Conner who have recently moved to TX!
Love my family!
Happy Birthday, Kenadie!!!  We love you and have so much fun with you!!!  Can't wait to see what all fun things we will get in to this year!  Have fun being 5!

My Rhinestone CowGIRL

Who doesn't love a little cowgirl???
Especially when she's this cute!
And...she has a pretty adorable class too!
The week we were in Atlanta, see post below, was the week Kenadie's class was doing a cowboy unit.  She returned to school on the day that they could dress-up like cowboys, so I was happy she didn't miss that, however, I hated to break it to her...well, actually I just didn't tell her, that she missed 3 whole days of cowboy/horse related activities!  The girl has a serious passion for horses!!!  I definitely see horseback riding lessons in her future!  And Papa, if you're reading this, she says you are getting her a black horse, to be named "Blacker", for her 10th birthday!  Don't know where that came from, but she's not backing down!  She throws it out at random just like anything else she tells me :)

Have a happy weekend!  I know we sure will!  We've got a special little girl's 5th birthday to celebrate!!!

Fun in Atlanta!

Soooo... my blog posts seem to be getting fewer and farther between :(  Who knew life with two children who weren't even "school-aged" could be so hectic?!?  Well, it sure is!  I have a few blog worthy things that happened this month that I wanted to post about before November!  Can't believe I'm even saying that!!!  Wow!  It's 90 degrees and we're one week away from November!

At the beginning of the month, Aaron invited us to tag along with him to Atlanta, and seeings how I DO love a road trip, I wasn't turning it down!  You don't have to twist my arm to escape doing laundry, cooking & cleaning for a few days!  How easy would life be if all you had to do was care for your children and eat out every meal!!!  I could get use to that :)

Aaron attended the NRECA regional conference, and we girls did not!  We're more about the lounging around in the room, meeting up for lunch, going to build-a-bear and playing at the park!  You know, fun things like that :)

Lunch at Johnny Rockets!
Lots of fun was had by ALL at the Children's Museum!
Loves to shop like Mommy :)
 Making Papa proud :)
Need a board like this at home!
Aaron got in on the fishing action too :)
A little stiff... but I liked the colors of the wall behind them :)
 Berkley + iPad = happiness!!!
 Who doesn't loves matching jammies?!?
Berkley adding a little CHEESE to our picture!
 Build-A-Bear goods!
Thanks, Aaron for including us :)  Let's do it again sometime!

Meet Darla: Kitty World Traveler

Well, today started out like any other.  Papa picked up Kenadie for school, Berkley and I hung around washing clothes, playing with babies, Little People etc...  At 11:20, we loaded up and headed to get Kenadie, have lunch and then get ready for dance. Just our typical Tuesday.

About a month ago, we welcomed Darla the kitty into our family.  She's a sweet little kitten who is trying to find her way to becoming an outside cat.  She is loved, petted, strolled, like literally in a doll stroller, and is all-in-all, a very well cared for cat, inside.  We've been trying to make the transition of getting Darla to become one with the great outdoors.  I personally need a fierce lizard catcher on guard at ALL times!  Her days indoors are numbered, or so I thought...

Okay, so back to me and Berkley leaving around 11:20 this morning... the best way I know how to tell this little story is just with a sequence of events, listed out in comma-like fashion.  Here we go:  We travel down I59 20 miles to go get Kenadie from school, stay parked at church for about an hour and a half while we eat and get changed for dance, drive about 2 miles over to dance, make a run to Walmart while Kenadie's hour long dance class takes place, go back to pick up Kenadie from dance, travel back down I59 about 20 miles to Papa & Kay Kay's house where we stay for about 2 hours while Kenadie & Berkley nap and for me to get in some QT with Kay Kay!

As we are about to load up and head home, Kay Kay says "there's a cat under your car."  Kenadie looks and says "that looks like our cat."  My thoughts go immediately to Miss Pretty who went missing a few months back.  I look under the car, and to my surprise, IT'S DARLA!!!  Do you know what that means?!?!  Sweet little Darla kitty, rode with us on all of those many stops, which lasted for about 6 hours!!!  Unbelievable, YES!!!   So, in a nutshell, Darla rode about 40 miles down the interstate going 74 mph, went to Walmart, tagged along to dance, and hung out for 2 hours while we were at my parents, without us ever even suspecting she was anywhere other than home!!!  I think it's safe to say we'll just let her stay inside for a little bit longer!!!  And, it also got me to wondering, did I quite possibly "deposit" Miss Pretty somewhere like I almost did Darla???  It remains a mystery :)
