Well, today started out like any other. Papa picked up Kenadie for school, Berkley and I hung around washing clothes, playing with babies, Little People etc... At 11:20, we loaded up and headed to get Kenadie, have lunch and then get ready for dance. Just our typical Tuesday.
About a month ago, we welcomed Darla the kitty into our family. She's a sweet little kitten who is trying to find her way to becoming an outside cat. She is loved, petted, strolled, like literally in a doll stroller, and is all-in-all, a very well cared for cat, inside. We've been trying to make the transition of getting Darla to become one with the great outdoors. I personally need a fierce lizard catcher on guard at ALL times! Her days indoors are numbered, or so I thought...
Okay, so back to me and Berkley leaving around 11:20 this morning... the best way I know how to tell this little story is just with a sequence of events, listed out in comma-like fashion. Here we go: We travel down I59 20 miles to go get Kenadie from school, stay parked at church for about an hour and a half while we eat and get changed for dance, drive about 2 miles over to dance, make a run to Walmart while Kenadie's hour long dance class takes place, go back to pick up Kenadie from dance, travel back down I59 about 20 miles to Papa & Kay Kay's house where we stay for about 2 hours while Kenadie & Berkley nap and for me to get in some QT with Kay Kay!
As we are about to load up and head home, Kay Kay says "there's a cat under your car." Kenadie looks and says "that looks like our cat." My thoughts go immediately to Miss Pretty who went missing a few months back. I look under the car, and to my surprise, IT'S DARLA!!! Do you know what that means?!?! Sweet little Darla kitty, rode with us on all of those many stops, which lasted for about 6 hours!!! Unbelievable, YES!!! So, in a nutshell, Darla rode about 40 miles down the interstate going 74 mph, went to Walmart, tagged along to dance, and hung out for 2 hours while we were at my parents, without us ever even suspecting she was anywhere other than home!!! I think it's safe to say we'll just let her stay inside for a little bit longer!!! And, it also got me to wondering, did I quite possibly "deposit" Miss Pretty somewhere like I almost did Darla??? It remains a mystery :)

haha! this is hilarious!
ReplyDeletethat is too funny! and really quite impressive!
ReplyDeleteMatt's family had a cat that made it from Sumrall to Ellisville under my car. He ran up a tree at my mom and dad's house and Matt had to get it down in a thunderstorm at which point it went back under my car. I drove back to Sumrall, he got out, and he never tried that car thing again!
