Who's The Fairest of Them All?

Kenadie was Snow White this year for Halloween. It was our first year to not dress as a member of the bug family :) We had quite a full day on Saturday! We got in late the night before from Disney World, were up early and headed to Southern's game at 11:00 on Saturday, and thank goodness Kenadie spent two and a half hours of the game like this...because I was kinda wondering where our nap was going to fit in with trick-or-treating and lest we forget, Saturday was Snow White's actual birthday, so we couldn't not celebrate :) Boy do I have a child who gets into FULL character mode when she is dressed up like someone other than herself :) While she was in her costume, if you ever called her "Kenadie", she was sure to tell you "No Mommy, I'm not Kenadie, I'm Snow White." Only does she return to Kenadie when the costume comes off--ha!

And we even managed to get our pumpkin carved when we got home from the game...To our surprise, this was as close as she wanted to get to the "goo."Papa stayed behind to pass out our candy. By 6:30, Kenadie was over the whole trick-or-treat thing and by about 7:00 we had about 10 pieces of candy left, so we closed down shop so that we could celebrate Kay Kay and Kenadie's birthdays! Kay Kay's birthday is November 3rd. We enjoyed some delicious seafood for dinner and then back to our house for cake and ice cream.Happy Birthday Kay Kay & Kenadie!!! No comment on the cake's appearance... we'll just leave it at that :) It tasted good, and that's really all that matters... sorta :)

Happy 3rd Birthday Kenadie!

Dear Kenadie,
It is so hard to believe that three years ago today, at 4:51 p.m., you entered this world and changed our lives forever! You have brought us way more joy than your Daddy or I could have ever possibly imagined! Our hearts are continuously overflowing with gratefulness. You are such a special little girl, and we thank God for blessing us with such a perfect gift as you. We love you so very much and look forward to many more wonderful years to come! Happy 3rd Birthday to our sweet girl! Love, Mommy & Daddy

Kenadie at three years old is:
full of life, excited, animated, tenderhearted, curious, compassionate, LOVES to talk, doesn't meet a stranger.

Random facts about Kenadie:
-Still takes a two hour nap
-Prefers milk or apple juice over just about ANY food item, except maybe ice cream
-Loves to "do something fun, Mommy"
-Loves to paint, color, string beads, stick stickers, make crafts of any sort...
-Loves to be around people! If she's not asleep, she's right at my feet playing with whatever is the item of choice for that moment.
-Her favorite meal would consist of grapes, apples, cheese, chocolate pudding, and of course, ice cream!
-If she can't think of anything to say, she is GREAT at making up a conversation! Example:
Kenadie: "Mommy, say Kenadie, do you want to go ride your bike outside?"
Me: "Kenadie, do you want to go ride your bike outside?"
Kenadie: "No Mommy, not right now, but maybe later."
-Has the hardest time going to the doctor. This has not improved WHAT SO EVER in her three years of life!
-Doesn't like band aids or her toe nails painted. These two things get about the same reaction as taking her to the doctor! She can hardly stand the least little thing that might make you feel nervous/uncomfortable. I thought all little girls loved band aids and painted toe nails... nope, not true!
-Favorite color is purple
-Loves to play dress-up

We're going to have a fun, full day today! Football game at 11:00, trick-or-treating tonight, followed by another birthday celebration :)

Here's one more pic. We brought Kenadie home from the hospital on Halloween, so we couldn't ignore her "1st Halloween".

More Birthday Girls

Happy Birthday Molly and Lily! Molly turned 12 on Oct. 18th and Lily will be 6 on the 23rd. I would say these dogs are pretty well loved, considering between the two of them we have had a knee surgery, dental work done, one gets 2 allergy shots a month, daily heart meds, we never miss a Heartguard, dealt with separation anxiety issues... and the list goes on. Aside from those factors, they are sweet dogs and add a nice element to our home :) Someone might disagree with me on that, but I know deep down inside he loves them too :) Happy Birthday to "Uptight" Molly & "Laid-back" Lily :)

Oodles Of Poodles

I'm still grasping tightly to the fact that my baby is still two, however; we had the BEST time celebrating her third birthday with all of her friends this past Saturday. Here is a recap of how the party went...First, we jumped and...dug for doggy bones until all of our friends arrived.
Then, we played Pin The Tail on the Poodle...Of course, the night before Kenadie's party, we were practicing how to play the game and when I pulled out the cute little polka dot mask I had made... um, yeah, it ALL went downhill from there :( She cried as if we were at a Dr. appointment, and seeings how that's the most pitifully she ever cries... it was pretty bad! However, in typical "girl-like" fashion, 20 minutes after the initial introduction to the polka dot mask that I described as a disaster... she was begging for the thing and didn't want to take it off??? :) I still decided to come up with plan B just in case others reacted the same way my little poodle did.How about let's try "magic" Tinkerbell glasses that you can't see out of because I covered the lens with construction paper :) Now that worked and everyone participated!Next, we had some fun getting the treats out of the poodle pinata...And then it was time to make a pink poodle...I mentioned in my previous post that I had pink hands... this would be the project that caused them-ha! FYI: despite reading reviews on how easy it is to dye your own cotton balls, BUY the things if they are in season! Apparently they are a spring item and nowhere to be found in stores during the fall months! I literally spent ALL day dying cotton balls pink. My first idea was to mist them with a water bottle with water and pink food coloring. That was a failed attempt because if they weren't hit dead on with the spray of water, it only turned them pink in the spots that were. Next, I had the great idea of taking them outside to do this so that they dried faster... Guess what happened with that... the sun dried up all their pink color, so I was left with pink cotton balls that dried white just like they originally started! Then, for my last attempt that actually worked, I mixed water and pink food coloring in a bowl and completely submerged the cotton balls in the pink water. Do you have any idea how long 200 fully submerged cotton balls takes to dry?? Oh, just about 30 hours... and that was with transferring them to new towels periodically as they soaked one and having your WONDERFUL husband dry them with a hair dryer :) He also had the great idea of putting them on cooling racks, that helped tremendously too! But, after all that, if I needed pink cotton balls again and they weren't in stores, I would do it all over again :)
We also made bracelets...
We sang "Happy Birthday"...and when we got to "Happy Birthday dear Kenadie", she turned to me and said "no Mommy, I'm a poodle." :) She must have been expecting "Happy Birthday dear Poodle..."There, I think that concludes Kenadie's party. Thanks to all of our friends and family that came to help make Kenadie's birthday so special!!! Now, I'm about to go treasure these last 12 days of having my sweet girl be two... and try to not do too much crying about it, time just passes too quickly!

My Little, Big, Pumpkin

See for yourselves, but for some reason in all of these pictures, Kenadie looks way too grown up! I don't know if it was the location, the lighting, the outfit... or maybe it's due to the fact that she is QUICKLY approaching her third birthday, sigh, which by the way... my hands are COMPLETELY PINK from my efforts at making her birthday party as memorable as I can :) Stay tuned for that... party this weekend :)

So, this past Saturday, we made a visit to the local pumpkin patch.A maze just her size...
and she made it through!
Playing in the corn. A favorite for sure!
Without hesitation, she flew through this tunnel! NOT typical Kenadie!

The following picture is the one that just jumped out at me the most that she looked so growny :( Again, I'm going to blame it on the outfit or something, or maybe the subdued expression on her face??? :)

Which three pumpkins are going home with us??? Decisions, decisions...
This one has definitely made the cut...

Yep, that's enough...

We've had a runny nose around our house lately, and seeings how I have to assist Kenadie with this... She told me she needed to blow her nose, which at the time, my hands were full, so I sent her to bring me some tissue so I could help her. She returned with the tissue and was asking "Mommy, is this enough?":)

Our MOST FAVORITE book at the moment that MUST get read EVERY night...Last night after Kenadie had been tucked in, read 5 Little Monkeys and said prayers and goodnight... we later hear her panicly, if that's a word, calling "Daddy, Daddy..." Aaron goes to check on her to which she tells him "We forgot to pray for the five little monkeys!" :)
