Easter Sunday

On our way to church!
Our church had two services this year, one at 8 a.m. and one at 10:30, with Bible Fellowship being in the middle of the two services at 9:15.  I casually suggested we go to the early service and then to Sunday School... The above picture was taken at approximately 8:30.  Needless to say, we didn't quite make it :) and I really don't think anyone in my family took me serious on my suggestion :)  Oh well...
They quickly checked out their Easter baskets...
I hadn't made a big deal about the Easter bunny, he hadn't even been mentioned for that matter, but on Saturday night, I decided to tell/remind Kenadie about the Easter bunny leaving "treats" in her basket.  I was trying not to make a big deal about it, and I just wanted her to know the real meaning of why we celebrate Easter, to which she has been learning for years now, and so after my attempt to make sure she didn't get the message that Easter was all about a bunny, which I know she doesn't :) she just maturely and nonchalantly replied "Thanks, Mom!" and I was like, "Ha!  So, she couldn't care less about the Easter bunny apparently!" :)
After church, we came back to my parents for a delicious lunch, followed by about 3 hour naps for the girls, and then finally, a long awaited egg hunt!
This little girl was pretty proud to be sitting at such a "fancy" table and drinking from her fancy cup!
Berkley woke up a little before Kenadie, so we let her start her little egg hunt :)  She immediately knew what to do!  It was the cutest thing you ever did see!  Now, of course, once she found her two eggs, she was kinda over the hunt...  but cute nonetheless!
And who can resist a baby escaping in her bunny ears!?!
Sleeping Beauty FINALLY awoke!
The day ended with a beautiful drive off into the sunset :)  This would also be Berkley's newly discovered favorite pastime!!!  It's a shame I don't fit in the driver's seat of that thing, or I would be driving her around ALL afternoon, EVERY day!  Kenadie is already getting tired of "driving Berkley around in her pink car :)"

Easter Field Day

Due to yucky weather, Kenadie's Easter Field Day at school had to be moved indoors, BUT no rain was going to spoil their fun!  There were games set up literally ALL over the church!  The kids had a great time, and Berkley was happy as a lark sitting in her stroller taking it all in.
This was what she said was her favorite of ALL the games they played!  Bunny tag :)
Kenadie's class, minus two sweet little girls
Sack race fun!
We took a tumble :)
Friends :)
Enjoying the entertainment!
And there's that lady who takes ALLLL those pictures :)
After all games were played, we went back to their classroom for them to tell the parents the Easter story.

Comparison

The other day, my mom made the comment of how much Berkley looked like me at this age when I was a baby.  This was around the same age that Kenadie also favored me a lot, so I thought I would compare the two to see how much they favored :)  Kenadie looks tanner than normal in this pic, and Berkley looks fairer than normal.  Definitely Kenadie has a darker complexion for sure though, and that kind of throws off how much they favor to me.  Anyway, here they are at 14 months :)

Egg-Stravaganza!

I'm feeling a little back in pregnancy mode, minus the pregnancy part :)  It's 12:45 a.m. and I am UP WIDE AWAKE!!!  Oh, and I should mention it's Sunday morning, and in just 5 short hours, the lovely and ever so relaxing event of getting everyone dressed and loaded in the car by 8:30 to be on our merry way to church begins :)  Don't get me wrong, I have very willing participants, I just don't have enough time, but for some reason, I REFUSE to wake before 6 a.m. :)

From the looks of my title, you're probably thinking we've been watching a little too much Miss Patty Cake's EggggStravaganza, or perhaps it's merely 1 a.m. and that was the best I could come up with... fitting nonetheless!  We had our first little egg hunt for the week today, I mean yesterday, which just so happened to be Berkley's 1st egg hunt to participate in.  Now, granted, she only cared about 2 eggs, two because that's how many hands she has :)  A blue one and an orange one, with more emphasis put on the orange one :)  We had great fun, and I got some really cute pictures, but what I learned most from today's experience is that Aaron WILL MOST DEFINITELY be putting a Canon Rebel on his Christmas list this year, because with two children, BOTH need their own photographer!  It's just a MUST!  Okay, so maybe that would be a little much... nah... yep, that's what he needs!  A camera just like mine :)  I was like a chicken with my head cut off trying to keep up with two kids going in separate directions, while attempting to photograph both of their every move!!!  Do you get the visual?  First, I was like "Well, I have to take more pictures of Berkley because it's her first egg hunt!"  And then I was like "No, Kenadie looks way different than she did last year doing this, so maybe it's her I need more pictures of???"  All in all, I captured cute moments from both.  I'll just try to not let my mind go to the moments I most definitely missed...

My adorable little family, minus me.  My hair was looking some kind of terrible, and that's kind of a big deal, ya know...
Here's that orange egg I was telling you about :)
And here's that adorable little girl who is just growing up way too fast!
All the kiddies.  This is not all, but a large portion of all the kids on Aaron's mom's side of the family. Acknowledging that that was probably grammatically incorrect, but remember, it's 1 a.m., and I got up going strong at 7 this morning.  Kinda thinking this is the first time I've sat all day...
"Mommy!  Candy!!!"
Again, that beloved orange egg...
Kenadie and cousin, Lily
I wonder if back when Aaron was a star football and baseball player, picture Aaron rolling his eyes here, but it's the truth... if he ever imagined he would be chasing two giggly, pink-wearing, little girls around :)  He's great at it though :)
We're at Aaron's grandparents, by the way.  The girl cousins: Ava, Kenadie, Berkley, Lily & Miriam
She got a little thirsty :)  Noting here, we have YET to find a food Berkley doesn't like!  Poor thing can't have wheat or milk, but she doesn't know she's missing out :(
And this little girl hasn't found a candy that she doesn't like :)
Peek-a-boo!
This about wraps up our first egg hunt of 2012.  Now, off to try to catch my zzzzzz's..... because I've got some super sweet 2 year olds who will be ready to play with me when I get to church in the morning :)  Too-da-loo!

She says...

Not too much going on around here, which isn't a bad thing...  It's 10:00 a.m. and I've already put in a full days work :)  We three girls took Annie to the vet to be spayed, and can't wait to go back and get her.  I've washed 2 loads of clothes, washed dishes and helped Kenadie with a little crafting.  I was only kidding about the "full days work!"  There are still sheets to change, because it's "change your sheets Friday", floors to be vacuumed, more clothes to be washed, a treadmill to be ran on, oh yeah, and children to be taken care of :)  If only someone could do all that other "stuff" and just let me play with the kids...

We had a big "first" this week!  School picture day!!!  Not to make it sound like a holiday, but just something we had never participated in :)  Here is how my little jewel looked, followed by some recent funny things she's said lately :)
After telling her about a fun day planned for "tomorrow."
"I love tomorrows!  They're my favorite days!"

Aaron and I hear a LOUD crash from the playroom and give each other the "look", and in a low kinda talking to herself-like voice we hear: "Silly me, I forgot to be careful." :)

Kenadie: "I like your jacket, Mommy."
Lindsey: "Awww, thanks Kenadie!"
Kenadie: "Well, I don't like the color, just the shape of it.  Yeah, I only like the shape of your jacket."

Trying to decide what she and I would play next, and it was my turn to choose, only after she told me that friends had to take turns when picking what to play next, and I was her friend.
"Mommy, I'll give you your choices because you need choices.  You only have one choice though.  Cooking in my kitchen is your only choice!"

Pretty In Blue

One of my oldest friends, and I don't mean her age :), took Berkley's 12 month pictures, and I couldn't be happier with how great they turned out!  Heather and I have been friends since the 2nd grade, and she is some kind of talented!  You can check out her website here.  These are just some of my favorites...

    Thanks so much, Heather!!!

Fun With a Phone

In no particular order, I bring to you, more phone happenings.

This is a little something we like to call a bubble helmet!  And yes, she thinks it's HILARIOUS!!!

Why yes Berkley, I do believe you have a little something on your face!  Loving her gluten free "make-do" Oreo.

When it's not in use, Annie is claiming it as her own!

Tent fun!

She's pretty proud...

Love 'em

It's music to my ears when I hear "Mommy, will you take my picture by this?"  And so, I did.  We're just in Mellow Mushroom, ha!

How you find Kenadie when you tell her she doesn't have to take a nap, but she has to play quietly in her room...
